October Highlights and Feeling Grateful!

October was a good month and I have so many things to be thankful for. I constantly remind myself to be grateful for what I have because at any moments life can change and these things can be taken away. I try to make it a point to count my blessings during the times that I think about the things that are not going so great or in my favor.

Here are some of the highlights of my October that I want to share with you:
  1. I ran the Long Beach Marathon in 3:52:15 and beat my course time by 13 minutes! This is the only Finish Line photo that I have because the ones that were taken by Marathon Foto that show up under my name/bib number are of someone else. I am thankful that my friend snapped this one on her phone or else I would not have anything at all.

  1. I ran 104 miles in October. It was a low mileage month but since I have no big races on the schedule, I figured it would be wise to give my body a break after my marathon and keep it easy until the next cycle of marathon training begins on November 11th. I am glad I did because my legs feel great and I am ready to get back out there. I am so thankful to have made it this far into 2013 without a running related injury.

  1. I got a raise and my evaluation went better than I expected. I am so blessed to have the job that I have and to be able to work with such great people. I know I have said it a million times but I am truly blessed and probably do not deserve to have such a great position.

  1. I had my annual physical and everything came back clean. I had been having some issue with low blood pressure and not feeling so great at times but I guess I am okay. My doctor seems to think that running is the reason for the low blood pressure. I have been feeling a lot better so hopefully it stays this way. Maybe I am just getting old :(
What are you thankful for?

Tell me about the highlights of your month!

  1. Way to go on your evaluation! I'm sure you deserved that raise.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm SO very grateful for so many things, but being injured sure makes staying positive a little harder at times.

My mom has always had low blood pressure, but is very healthy. Sounds like you are too!
