A Good Kind of Pain

My calves have been really upset with me! I think I may have pushed them more than I should have but it sure felt good doing it. Let's see how this might have happened...15 miles on Sunday and then a nice 6 miler on Monday. I rested yesterday and spent the day in my CEP's even though they did not quite coordinate with my business attire dress code at work. I don't think anybody really noticed my socks since I spent lots of time in my office hiding out working for the most part.
I have been icing my calves, using my Stick and also using my TENS/EMS unit so I think I might be on my way to recovery. They are feeling better today and tonight I have 7 miles on deck.  My last two runs went better than expected so it's kind of hard to pass up a planned run when everything feels so right. I guess I will see how I feel tonight and make an executive decision. I know that I have to be careful...
This is kind of unrelated but I am loving this bag from Lululemon right now. My friend Shawna brought it to work and gave it to me because she had an extra one. It was kind of exciting to get my hands on this bag without having to drop my life savings on a cute running outfit!

Are you a Lululemon fan?
If you have never shopped there it is best that you don't even start because it can be pretty addicting.  I made the mistake of signing up to receive their Tuesday morning lulu-grams that tempt you with all of the new stuff for the week!

  1. Oh no I hope your calves loosen up fast! LOVE that bag. I'm a Lulu fan but choke at the $$ and typically don't buy much as a result. I got the tiny 'Poser' bag the last time I was in and am coveting that Run one!

  2. I am having the same pains, just on the shins. I have been icing as well. It is hard to schedule in runs, all while making sure they coincide with the social calendar and there are enough rest days in between! Hoping you are able to get out for the 7 miler...

    1. I think we are both going through the same stuff! Maybe you can try some compression sleeves when you run to help with those shin splints. There are also some exercise that you can do to help. Hope you feel better soon!

  3. Hope your calves feel better soon. I love wearing my compression socks to work, but I am a nurse and we don't have a super strict dress code, for socks anyway.

Love the bag and love lulu, although all I have are 6 skirts and one pair of shorts, but yes addicting. Such great quality and cute styles.

  4. Sore calves are the worst! (Mine are acting up right now, too.) I hope the icing and compression socks help you feel better.

I absolutely love lululemon, or I guess I did until a few weeks ago when they started putting out really ugly designs that are poorly made. At least their core products are still generally okay.

    1. The icing and compression socks has helped a lot. Pain is not that bad today. I have not been shopping at Lulu lately and I am trying to stay away until I see something that I just have to have!

  7. Umm I don't know if I should even answer that question!! Over the last few months, I cannot even count the number of pieces I have gotten from there. I think I have almost 20 pairs of the speed shorts now. It's ridiculous! HOW DO WE STOP?!?!

    1. Good thing you don't work at Lulu because you would be coming home without a paycheck! You have a Lulu wardrobe! I bet you have more Lulu than you have work clothes. I am in love with their skirts but they haven't had any ones that have really caught my eye lately...and that's a good thing!
