Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Running

What a weekend! My Thanksgiving was great and I think I have been eating and snacking nonstop since Thursday! Our Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and turned out really well. I ran 8 miles in the morning and then showered and finished cooking. The dogs had their own little special meals too! They loved and it and are now wondering why they are back to eating the same old food again.
We relaxed for a little while after dinner and then headed over to Target for the Black Friday sale that started at 9:00 p.m. The line was already wrapped around the building when we arrived at 8:30 p.m but they everyone who was in line in was able to get in when the store opened. I was able to get everything that I wanted including my iPad. I also grabbed a camera for $99.00 and a few DVD for $10.00. We waited in line for about 30 minutes to pay and by the time we left Target it was incredibly packed.

Our next stop was the mall but we only needed to go to one store. The mall was super crowded and most of the stores were not able to let everyone in so they had long waits just to enter the stores. The lines at Victoria's Secret and Coach were over an hour long. We went to Sports Authority and then left the mall. We got up the next morning and headed to Kohls, Petsmart and two malls to see what was left. The Nike Store was a complete mess. I could not believe that people would actually do something like this and not even care. What is so hard about trying on a pair of shoes and then putting them back where you found them?? Very sad...
I was pretty beat after all of that shopping but the good thing is that my Christmas shopping is about 95% complete!  I actually did a lot of my shopping online this year and really focused on the kids in my family. It gets expensive trying to buy for everyone. I wish my family would draw names and make things easier.

I am still running and had a couple of great runs this week. My pace is getting better and my pain is just about gone! I ran 25 miles this week and I am really happy! I think I am going to hit 100 miles this month! I am 24 miles away from a 100 mile month and will also double my goal for Pile on the Miles! I am still taking it easy though and have not signed up for any races for the remainder of the year. I am really wanting to do a Christmas race but I have not signed up as of yet. I am kind of enjoying this pressure free running right now to be honest with you. I am focusing on increasing my long runs since I do have some races coming up in the beginning of 2013.
Tuesday: 6 Miles

Thanksgiving: 8 Miles (planned on 7 but felt great and kept going)

Saturday: 11 Miles (I planned on 10 but decided that I needed to push it a little since I have been eating too many goodies for the past few days.) Speaking off goodies, this also happened on Saturday.
Saturday was Small Business Saturday and American Express offered a $25.00 statement credit for any purchase of $25.00 or more at local small businesses who accept their credit card. My favorite cupcakery was on the list so I bought a dozen. I shared them with my running buddies and kept a few for us at home. They were so good and will only cost me $5.00 after the credit from American Express. Can't beat that deal!

Today was spent going to church and picking up some decorations for my front yard and eating again! We have been wanting to try a burger from The Habit and happened to see one while we were out and about. It was good but I was not too impressed. I think In and Out Burger does it ten times better!
Now that Thanksgiving has ended, it is time to get in the Christmas spirit and decorate the house both inside and out! I love it when my house is all decorated but I dread taking it all down and putting it away. I think I am going to get busy on that now!

How was your Thanksgiving? Did you Turkey Trot?
Mine was great but I have to stop eating so much! Thanksgiving is over!

Did you get any good Black Friday deals? What did you buy?

Who makes the best burgers?
I am voting for In and Out!

What Are You Thankful For?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Sometimes when you have a lot going on or life seems to be getting the best of you, it is hard to stop and count your blessings, right?  If you are a runner, you will understand the next thing I am about to state. Being injured sucks and when I am unable to run I feel like it is the end of the world! I get into a really depressed state of mind and take for granted the hundreds of things that I am blessed with. I just want to share some of things that I am truly thankful for today:
1. I am thankful for my health.  I have to constantly remind myself of this, especially when I am not able to run. As most of you already know, my Dad is fighting cancer and although he is working and is still doing quite well in spite of the cancer, he is not able to do lots of things that he used to do.  My Dad used to ride his bike as often as he could. The chemo tires him out so much that he is no longer able to ride his bike.  My Dad has opened my eyes so much and has truly made me thankful that I am healthy and that I am able to run even when there are times when I am sidelined.

2. I am thankful that my children are healthy. I have a co-worker who has a very young daughter who has cancer. I believe that she is only 7-8 years old.  My heart breaks for him because it has changed his life. She has a couple weeks left of treatment and things are looking very positive. I cannot even imagine having to watch one of my kids go through something like this.

3. I am thankful to be employed. I have a great job and I work in a great place. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve the job that I have. I have a great boss who is flexible and allows me to work hours that fit with my home life. He understands that my son has things going on at school and never has a problem if I want to take time off to attend those activities or to attend dentist or doctor's appointments. I am truly blessed to have such a great job. In return, I do my best and take care of everything so that my boss never has to ask. I hope that I  can retire from this job. It is just that great!

4. I am thankful for my family. We have our ups and downs but in the end we are family and must love and accept one other. I am very thankful for my grandparents who have always supported me since I was young. My parents divorced when I was five years old and they did their best to help my older sister and I through some rough times at such a young age. I hope that one day I can repay them for everything that they have done for me. I have promised them that when they get old and can no longer take care of themselves that they will not end up in a convalescent home and they will be well taken care of. The reason I purchased a larger home was to make room for them so that when they need me, there have a place to go.

5. I am thankful to have a home and food on the table. So many people have lost their homes due to the poor economy and that makes life pretty tough. I am also thankful to have food on the table since so many people are homeless or have been displaced for one reason or another.

Don't forget to count your blessings each and every day!

Tell me one thing that you are thankful for today?

My Thanksgiving Plans...

Why did I not take today off from work? Maybe because I took a ton of time off last week! I feel like I am so behind today in preparing for Thanksgiving. I still have to buy several things for my Thanksgiving Dinner and I have to prepare and pop the turkey in the oven tonight. I actually cook my turkey in a roasting pan at a very low temperature overnight. When I wake up the next morning, the house smells so good and the turkey is done. It comes out so tender in the roasting pan and we love it!

I have something to confess. Last year was the first time that I ever made a turkey! I learned how to make a turkey from some of the girls at work. I always thought that it was too much work but it turns out that it really isn't. Honeybaked Ham was my best friend up until last year! My kids are not big turkey eaters and they love the ham so I ended up buying a ham anyway. I also love their oven roasted turkey breast so I had to get one of those too! We love the crackling sweet glaze on top of their ham and turkey breast!
My dinner will also include mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, warm rolls and some veggies.  I will make all of the sides on my own without the help of Honeybaked! I haven't quite decided what dessert will be but I am thinking on stopping by my favorite cupcakery and possibly picking up some of these irresistible goodies on the way home!
I decided to pass on the Turkey Trot this year but will still be getting a run in on Thanksgiving morning. In the evening I plan on hit up some of the sales that are starting because I have to get the iPad deal at Target! If you are a crazy Black Friday Shopper like me make sure you read my post about on Black Friday Survival Tips!

What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
I will be staying home and spending time with my kids and maybe my grandparents if they are up to it!

Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? What's on the menu?

Black Friday Survival Tips!

I think I expressed my love for Black Friday in a previous post and I think I am going to do it again this year. I get really excited for the newspaper that comes on Thanksgiving Day because it has all of the sale ads for Black Friday. Part of my Thanksgiving includes planning out my shopping day. This includes what stores I plan to go to, what time they open and exactly what I want. I also prioritize what I want to buy and hit those stores up first. I am not one of the hard core Black Friday shoppers that will sleep outside in a tent for a week to get a $100 TV but I do enjoy getting good deals.

I have figured out some tricks to surviving Black Friday so I will be using those again this year.  Here are some of the tips that I want to share with you:
  1. Be Prepared! It is almost impossible to get everything you want because the door busters sell out quick so you have to join forces with family and friends. You have to know what you want and then you have to split up and hit up the stores individually. I go one direction, my other half goes another. My sister and I do a lot of cross country shopping as well. She looks for things for me and I look for things for her and we keep in contact via text messaging.
  2. Find a baby sitter for the kids or leave them home with Dad if he is not a shopper!  Some of those Black Friday shoppers get crazy and I know you have heard the stories of people getting trampled at Walmart. Other reasons to leave the kids with behind include long lines at the check out and the restrooms. Kids also get tired and hungry and it is just not an enjoyable experience for them.
  3. Know the layout of the stores you plan to hit up. I usually hit up my local stores so I already know where everything is at but if you are shopping in a place where you don't usually shop check it out ahead of time so you can go directly to the location of the items you are shopping for.
  4. If you pay close attention, there are certain lines for people buying certain things and if you are actually buying one of those items, you are lucky but I am usually unlucky. I have another strategy that may or may not be so honest. I usually just purchase one of the items that has the special line, which is usually an hour or two shorter, and then return it the following week!
  5.  Keep your eyes open for items that people have ditched and do not want.  I have found some of the door busters that are sold out thrown about in various locations the store.
  6. Lines can be pretty long so if you have a shopping partner with you, sometimes it pays to have them jump in line while you are shopping around. This can save you lots of time and allow more time to head to the next store!
  7. Watch your cart carefully! I have had people try to remove things from my cart when I looked away for a moment. I guess they figure that the best place to find the door busters is in another person's shopping cart.
  8. Watch your purse! The stores are crowded and it's very easy to lose sight of your purse.  Never leave it in the cart attended. I carry a smaller purse with me on Black Friday and never leave my purse in a cart no matter what.
  9. Shopping carts are hard to come by on Black Friday so the best place to get a cart is from someone who is exiting the store. I sometimes follow people out to their car so I can take their cart. Of course I ask them but this is sometimes the only way to get a shopping cart.
  10. Put all of your shopping bags in the trunk of your car and out of view! I have heard stories of people being robbed of their goods left in the car.
  11. Finally, rest up since most sales start at midnight and you will not be sleeping but shopping instead. Bring water and snacks with you since Black Friday shopping will consume quite a few hours of your day.
  12. For the Non-Black Friday shoppers, stay away from the stores on this day! Make sure you take care of any errands you have today and you will avoid the craziness!
So now that I have given you all of the tips, who is going Black Friday shopping? ME!!!

I Have Writer's Cramp!

FINALLY!! I can officially say that I have refinanced my house! All of the paperwork was signed tonight and come January my payment will be much much lower! I have no mortgage payment in December but ended up using the money I had put aside for it to pay the prepaid costs that are collected such as property taxes, insurance and interest.
I am looking forward to that lower mortgage payment in January 2013! This is definitely one good way to start off the year! Maybe I will make a New Years Resolution to save more money but spending money on running stuff doesn't count, right?

It Was A Busy Week...

I had a really busy week even though I only worked two days this week. I got so used to not working that those two days felt like a full week. I didn't run a ton of miles but my miles are definitely increasing slowly but surely.

Monday: 120 push ups and PT stretches

Tuesday: 6 Miles

Wednesday: 90 push ups and PT stretches

Thursday: 7.05 Miles

Friday: REST DAY

Saturday: 4.1 Miles: I waited for the rain to stop and then ran out of time since I had a hair appointment.

Sunday: Planned on running but it didn't happen. I did do 120 push ups though!

TOTAL MILES: 17.15

My mileage for November is up to 51 miles which means that I met my goal for Pile on the Miles! Not much but a sign that things are moving along and I am happy with it. I would love to hit 100 Miles this month but not going to push it! I really I wanted to do that Turkey Trot I have been talking about but I think I am going to sit it out this year. I am kind of enjoying the pressure-free running I have been doing lately. I would love to do more but I know I have to slowly work my way back into things.

Other than running the weekend was pretty busy. On Friday night we attended a Tree Lighting Ceremony at a local mall. We weren't planning on going but we kind of stumbled upon it when we arrived at the mall. It was pretty crowded but we enjoyed it. My son loved the show and the snow fall that took place at the end after Santa Claus arrived. He knows the truth about Santa Claus but he enjoyed the laser show and the fireworks.
Saturday was also busy. I went for a quick run in the morning after he rain stopped and then headed to my hair appointment. I have been considering cutting my hair but too many people have been telling me not to so I didn't. I also started to do a little bit of Christmas shopping. I was surprised at all of the good sales that are going on before Black Friday. I promised myself that I am not going to go crazy this year and just focus on buying for my kids and the other young children in my family. My Saturday also included some preliminary grocery shopping for our Thanksgiving dinner. While grocery shopping, I stumbled upon up the last two packs of Hostess Crumb donuts off of the shelf! I am really bummed that Hostess went bankrupt. I am going to miss my mini 6 packs of Donettes! I grew up eating these things!
Sunday was pretty typical. After church we had lunch and then I took a nap and missed my run with a couple of running buddies :(  It's going to be another short week with only three working days for me this week. I am looking forward to another long weekend!

How was your weekend? Have you started Christmas shopping yet?

Almost Wordless Wednesday

It looks like November is going to be the best month I've had in a while!
My only goal is to run pain free!

Time to Get Back to Work...

I had a great 6 days off of work and tomorrow I have to go back. It was nice to say the least but the thought of all the work piling up on my desk also sat in the back of my mind. We got a lot done over the past 6 days. The anniversary celebration lasted way too long in the form of eating. The grand finale of the celebration was this amazing dessert and then I decided to call it quits for sure. I knew I was going overboard but it only happens once a year so you gotta live a little, right? I am afraid to step on the scale these days!
So many great races took place over the weekend and I have to admit that I was pretty sad not being a part of it. Going for the 9 mile run on Sunday kind of made me feel better since I was able to run even if it wasn't a race. I woke up on Monday morning feeling pretty good after my 9 mile run which was very reassuring. The weather was perfect and it was nice to not have to get up at 5:00 am to beat the heat!
I took a break from running on Monday to go see the new James Bond movie "Skyfall" with the boys. They have been waiting for this movie to come out for a long time. It was a great movie, so go and see it!
I went for 6 miler on the treadmill this morning. It was very boring but I stayed in bed too long to take advantage of the cooler temperatures. I am counting my blessing these days when it comes to running. I just have to be careful when the good feeling kick in because the "sign up for a race" bug starts to kick in along with it! I am still contemplating if I will do the Turkey Trot or a Christmas half but if I do, I will sign up as late as possible to make sure that I am feeling strong enough.

I am also getting really excited for Black Friday. Target just released a sneak peak of their Black Friday ad and they are offering the same iPad that I just impulsively bought with an even greater deal. They are offering a $60 Target gift card plus an additional $10 Target gift card with any $50 purchase. I haven't opened mine yet but I am thinking about returning it and going for the better deal since mine only came with a $40 Target gift card. I am a huge bargain hunter and coupon cutter so it's hard for me to accept less of a deal!

Even though I love my job, I cannot hardly wait until my next vacation! My sister will be visiting from South Carolina and we are having another big Christmas party this year. I will be off from December 21st through January 2nd. A whole 13 days so it will be even harder to return to work after all of that time off. My son is on vacation until January 7th so it is also hard to get out the door and go back to work while he is still on vacation.

Are you a coupon user?
Any chance that I get to use a coupon or save some money I am in! I will sign up for anything that offers discounts or coupons. You would not believe how much money I have saved!

Are you a bargain hunter?
You know I am. I never pass up the chance to get price adjustments or return something that I haven't opened or used to score a cheaper price!

I Finally Had a Decent Week!

I am excited to say that I finally had a decent week and I feel like my running is starting to get back on track. I knew things were getting better once I was able to run 18 total miles last week without the shin pain lingering. I wasn't sure how long it would last but I just kept my fingers crossed and prayed for the best!  Not having any committed races for the remainder of 2012 took a lot of stress off of my back and is allowing me to slowly ease my way back into things.

Here is how my week went:

Monday: 6.5 miles on the treadmill at 8:44 average pace (I haven't seen the 8:XX pace in a while so I was excited!) I kind of pushed the last half because the dreadmill  is very boring!

Tuesday: 86 push-ups and PT stretches

Wednesday: REST DAY

Thursday: 6 Miles and ran the first half with Caroline. It was great running with her and I am sure that I talked her head off!

Friday: 100 push-ups and PT stretches

Saturday: REST DAY

Sunday: 9 Miles

TOTAL MILES: 21.5

Pile on the Miles Update: I completed my first two weeks of Pile on the Miles with only 12 miles each week. Not so great but the good news is that I am running again and I am going to exceed my 50 mile goal for the challenge. At the time I signed up, the shin was still giving me grief and I wasn't about to sign up for a crazy amount of miles knowing that it was not going to happen.

Moving Forward: I really want to get back to cross training and add spinning back into my routine. I kind of backed off of spinning so that I could rest my legs for running and get myself back up to speed. If things continue to improve, the plan is to increase the long runs and start preparing for the Allstate 13.1 Los Angeles Half Marathon that is coming up on January 13, 2013. I am still hoping to pull of the Surf City Marathon on February 3, 2013 but if not, I will just run the half marathon and plan for another marathon at a later date.

Are you participating in Pile on the Miles? What is your goal?

Yes, I Still Have Them!

Remember those puppies that were born back on June 2 of this year?  I still have them and have not been able to find homes for them. They have names now and I I am not quite sure what I am going to do with them. My son is completely attached to them and maybe the rest of us are too! They are getting pretty big and are just the most lovable little things. Jackie is already 9 pounds and Chiquita is 7.1 pounds. Sugar still thinks that she needs to take care of them like she used to when they were first born and she loves to be with them. The puppies love her too and they cannot stand to be away from one another.
They all got new sweaters from Target to keep them warm for the winter. Chiquita is not very fond of her sweater and she takes it off when we are not home or when we are not looking. Jackie leaves hers on and doesn't really care for the most part. Sugar does not like the cold and has been refusing to go outside to use the bathroom so I have to force her out and she shakes and shivers. I think she appreciates her sweater more than the puppies do.
The next step for the puppies is getting them spayed before they go into their first heat cycle. I don't want to deal with the mess and I know that it is coming soon. I want to take care of it before Christmas so my girls will be going for surgery really soon. They are not going to be happy since they have already figured out what the vet does to them after having four sets of puppy shots!

Do you have dogs? What breed? Do you dress them up or put sweaters on them during the winter to keep them warm?

Breaking My Own Rules

I know I have been going on and on about refinancing my home and the need to save money for the past month or so. I am pretty good about not over spending and with Christmas right around the corner I think I have been really good up until Friday of last week....

I went into good old Target and broke my own rules.  I have yet to learn how to go into this place and just buy what is on my list and nothing else! It rarely happens. In my own defense, the extra things that I usually throw in my cart are things that I need but may have forgotten to add to my list.  My son always tries to convince me to buy him something when we go but he has not been too successful lately since it is almost Christmas.

I had been eyeballing the Target ad all week and debating about whether or not I should buy a certain item. The item was not on sale but since I have a Target credit card, I get 5% off all of my purchases so it saves me a heck of lot of money even though it is only a small percentage. I had a very impulsive moment and I bought an iPad with Retina display.
It has the same connector as the iPhone 5 and I have also been considering upgrading my phone since I am eligible to upgrade at a discounted price.  I got 5% off of the $499 and I also got a $40 Target gift card on top of that so I thought it was a pretty good deal.  Apple rarely offers any type of discount on their products except on Black Friday but why wait in a long line when you can get the same discount now? I did not buy the iPad with Wi Fi  because my phone plan allows me to use my iPhone as a hotspot so it's not really necessary.

I did have buyers remorse the next day and I still haven't opened it.  I am pretty sure that I am going to keep it but I just have to let it sink in first.

So tell me, are you able to go into Target and purchase only those items on your list?
 I rarely do :(

Do you get buyer's remorse when you purchase a high ticketed item?
I usually do, with the exception of my car and my house.

GoodBye October and Hello November

I can't believe that November is already here!  I am glad that October is over because it was a really rough month for me. I hardly ran at all due to my shin pain. It was hard to accept but I made it through. Whenever I feel discouraged about not running, I have to stop and remind myself of all the blessings in my life and it gives me a new perspective.  October was a very low mileage month to say the least.  It wasn't a record low for 2012 but 27 miles is pretty pathetic!  I credit that low mileage month to all of my patience that stopped me from running through pain.  I am actually pretty proud of myself but I just dread looking at the charts on DailyMile :(
On a positive note, I think that November is going to be a much better month for me. My shin pain is almost gone and I am able to run with very minimal pain.  I can still feel the pain if I run longer than 6 miles but that is a huge improvement for me. Last month I was not able to run a mile without the pain being at a level that I knew I needed to stop. My goal mileage for Pile on Miles is 50 miles and I have already logged 13 so if things continue to improve I think that I will meet or exceed my goal.

I had a great run on Saturday morning. It wasn't a fast run but it was a comfortable run that was almost pain free. I started to feel a little something after the 6th mile so I headed back to my car and called it a day. Saturday's run consisted of 7.5 miles at a 9:02 average pace which is something that I have not been able to do since September so I am incredibly happy with it. I am not focusing on pace right now but just being able to run without pain. I promised myself that I will be patient and run at a very easy pace while increase my mileage very slowly. I logged 18 miles this week and I am celebrating!
I am hoping to run a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day but will not be adding any serious races for the remainder of the year. If I am able to run any holiday runs, they will be strictly for fun since I am not in any shape to be pushing myself for PR's. I am also hoping to get back into my marathon training really soon.

Did you race this weekend? Have you signed up for any new races for 2013?
I have to back off of race registrations right now but I know that I will be catching the bug again really soon!

I know the NYC Marathon topic got pretty controversial but just wanted to share my thoughts. What are your thoughts?
I am satisfied with how the NYC Marathon was handled but think that it should have been cancelled much sooner than it was.  As a runner, I feel for those who trained hard, invested lots of money and may have even found themselves in NYC prior to the cancellation. I am keeping all of the victims in my thoughts and prayers.

Three Things Thursday

1. I was so excited to find out that my Caramel Brulee Latte as well as the other holiday drinks have returned to Starbucks for the holiday season! I knew they were coming soon because everyone has been posting about the return of the holiday cups! Now I have to be even more careful with a bowl full of Halloween candy at home and Caramel Brulee Lattes at Starbucks! Life is full of tough choices!
2.I have not had any shin pain at all this week. Normally I can feel the pain just by touching my shin but it his not there. I ran 5.5 miles on Monday and I am planning on running another 7 miles this weekend to give my shin a test run. I have decided to go with a size 8-1/2 in the Mizunos since bigger is better than smaller, right? I am praying for a great run with no pain afterwards.  My marathon training is three weeks off schedule and I am not sure what is going to happen if I don't catch up soon. Worst case scenario is that I run the half marathon instead.

3. I am sure you are all tired of hearing about my home refinancing issues but I will update you anyway. The new closing date for my loan has been rescheduled to November 19th. It better happens this time since Christmas is right around the corner and I don't want to be stressing out over this in the month of December.

What is your favorite holiday drink from Starbucks?

I'm Getting Hit On At Work!

Happy belated Halloween! Yesterday was a fun day at work for about 2 hours because we had a Halloween luncheon which included raffles, a costume contest and a taco lunch for $5.00. All proceeds benefited Community Health Charities and the United Way. I work in local government and they are a very giving City to say the very least. There is usually a theme each year and the event is usually organized by a different department in the City. Since we are short staffed this year, they kept it on the small side but it was still a lot of fun!

The lunch was so healthy yummy and we returned back to our desks in food comas.  There is always food in City Hall and if you are not careful, ten pounds will suddenly appear on your hips. It happened to me the first couple of years that I worked here but I am thankful that it happened to me because that weight gain is what got me into running back in 2010.
I usually dress up every year just because it is fun. I wanted to have a unique costume so that I  could win the costume contest so I my husband made my costume. I got the pinata idea from several costumes on the Internet and also from Janae and then I gave it my own twist. I don't wear dresses to work so I opted for the pants version of the costume. I also added the rope around my neck for the fun of it!
I bought a long sleeved black shirt and used a pair of black leggings that I already had in the closet to create the costume. The only down side is that you cannot wash or re-wear the clothes once you glue gun all of the streamers on. You can also use fabric glue or double-sided tape if you want to remove the streamers and still be able to use the clothes.
The costume was a lot of work (for my poor husband) but I wanted to do something different this year and the prices of costumes were outrageous. I spent about $20 on all of the supplies to make the costume (streamers, pinata stick, black shirt and glue sticks) but it took 2 days to put it all together. My husband is a perfectionist and can make anything you give to him so I put him to work! He did a great job and I told him that he is now officially in charge of making my Halloween costumes.
My co-workers loved my costume! I carried a pinata stick and a rope with me as  props and I did allow my co-workers to "hit on me."  The man in the top picture is my boss. I hope that he doesn't really want to hit me with a pinata stick!
All of the time invested into making my costume paid off because I actually won something this year! I won for the "Most Original Costume." I won a free casual dress day and a gift card to Cold Stone Creamery. Hooray!

My daughter, younger sister and my niece came over to go trick or treating with us in the evening and I wore my costume to go trick or treating with the kids. The pinatas multiplied since they liked mine so much but apparently they opted for the sexier version of the costume.
My son dressed up as some type of scary, silver skeleton. He picks the craziest costumes every year and most of them are really scary.  The poor kid can barely make it through the night in his own bed but wants to dress up as something scary every year. I am not quite sure what that is all about??? After trick or treating for about two hours, this is what will be tempting me for the next few days!! I have zero self control so this is not going to be easy! Good thing Pile on the Miles starts today so I can come up with a plan to burn off all of the Halloween candy.....

How was your Halloween? Did you dress up? Did you go to a Halloween Party?
