Three Things Thursday

 1. I didn't get a run in on National Running Day because my son was under the weather and my Grandma needed help balancing her checkbook. Family first so I will head to the gym tonight to get a good run in on the treadmill because it's going to be 85 degrees today. I was bummed but when you are mom it happens!
2. I have been really wanting a Nutribullet and I finally got one. My Grandma bought it for me as a graduation present and I am so excited! It was $99 but we only paid $60 after all of my discounts and Kohl's cash. I thought it was a pretty good deal! We tried it out last night and I love it! My son was not so fond of it because he said our concoction smelled and tasted like plants. He prefers his without the spinach of course.

 3. I am running a small, local 10K on Saturday. I am so not ready for it but I am just doing it for the heck of it since it is within running distance of my front door. How often does that happen for me? Almost never. I am also excited to be meeting up at the race with this lady and this lady! This will be even better than a PR!

Anybody have any good Nutribullet recipes they want to share with me?

    1. It is so easy to clean and it takes no time at all to get it going. My son is darn picky and I swear he notices everything. I thought I could sneak some veggies down his throat but no such luck!

  2. Good luck at your 10k. Probably will be easy for you since you're in marathon shape.

Hope your lil one feels better soon.

    1. Thank You Christy. It is supposed to be 90 degrees on Saturday and I am a big baby when it comes to warm weather. I completely surrender and give up so it is not going to be anything great!

  3. YAY SO EXCITED! I am so excited for the 5K - it's the first 5K I've RACED since December and with these last three months of speedwork down, I'm excited to see what I can pull out.

Oh and to meet you two - duh!

    1. I am still trying to figure out why you ditched me and ran the 5K instead of the 10K. We could have ran together! Anyway, you go ahead and get that PR! I am just going to run it by feel and see what happens.

$60 for your NutriBullet -- that's such a score!! Here's a great post workout & anti-candida recipe for you to try -- and your son might even like it because the spinach is hardly noticeable!!

    1 cup Spinach
    1/4 small Avocado
    1 tbsp Almond Butter
    1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
    1/2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
    1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk

PS: Thank you so much for your sweet, sweet comment on my last blog post -- I'm going to respond to it now!

    1. Thank you for the recipe! I am going to give it a try and maybe I can tell my son that there is no spinach in it. I will let you know how it goes. Hope everything is going well as can possibly be with Dad. I think of you and the family often as I know how rough these types of situations can be. Take care.

    1. It is so much better than a blender! It breaks everything down and combines it all together so much better than a blender and it is super easy to clean. You should definitely get one! I love mine!

  6. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! I like fruit smoothies. I usually mix yogurt, milk and fruit together, always adding frozen bananas to thicken. It's really nice when races are close to home. Have fun at the 10K!

    1. Thank you Tina! I never tried adding the frozen banana but that is a great idea since the drinks from the NutriBullet are not as cold since you are not supposed to add ice to the machine.
