How I Spent My Easter

I had a great Easter! My grandma wanted to cook for everyone  this year so I thought it would be nice for us to gather at her house since she can really use the company. I usually cook a traditional Easter meal with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and all of that good stuff so this year was a change but a good one. There was no cooking or cleaning for me this Easter so I got to take it easy. My grandma takes a lot of pride in her cooking and this is what she decided to cook for us.
Grandma made chicken enchiladas, homemade beans, a super yummy salad that tastes so good that I don't put any dressing on it, and her famous rice which everyone loves! It was great and I ate way too much. We ate around 1pm and I ate so much that I skipped dinner because I had no room left for it. She also made chocolate covered strawberries and a cake. I think the cake was gone before I had a chance to take a picture of it. I think Grandma loved the strawberries just a much as I did!
My Grandma loves to talk about "old times" as she calls them so she brought out a big box of pictures for us to look at. We had a blast laughing and looking through the pictures and I happened to come across this picture of my sister and I with the Easter bunny. I think I must be about 4 years old in this picture. My older sister and I are only 11 months apart and everyone always mistaked us for twins when we were growing up. Can you guess which one is me?
The Easter bunny in this picture looks kind of scary to me but maybe this was how the Easter bunny looked 50 years ago! Yes, I am that old!

How was your Easter?

Did your parents take you to visit the Easter bunny every year and force you to take a picture?

  1. My older sister and i are 11 months apart too, but there was no mistaking us for twins. She was 5'6 in 6th grade while I was like a foot shorter, plus she has brown hair. Now we are both 5'8", but for so long she was a head and shoulder taller than me! so funny. Your Grandma looks awesome. I love Grandmas and her food looks yum!

    1. I thought my parents were the only ones that didn't follow the 6 week rule or whatever it is (haha!) My grandma is something else and it is nice to see that she can still have fun in spite of what she has been through.

  2. Y'all definitely look like twins! Love that photo. And what a fun Easter! Though my family never does anything uber-exciting for holidays like Easter, it still makes me wish I were closer to home for things like that. Glad you enjoyed!

    1. When we were looking at the pictures with my mom on Easter she was having trouble telling us apart. It was pretty funny! You need to come back to California...like soon!!!
