Earthquakes or Humidity?

So my sister posted this on Facebook the night before I left to South Carolina...
The funny thing is that it hasn't rained at all since I have been here. The weather here is actually better than what it is in California. There have also been a couple of small earthquakes in California so I think I will settle for the humidity. It is 90 degrees here in South Carolina and 102 degrees back home.
An even funnier thing is that I have not ran at all in South Carolina! I am so messed up from the time change that by the time I wake up it is already in the mid 80's. I also forgot my hydration belt for some strange reason. I could have sworn it was in my carry on bag. So much for over packing! I have decided that it might be easier for me to run at night right before the sun does down. I am going to try to get a run in tonight.

The visit has been great so far. My niece and nephew are so well behaved and this baby never cries! I don't think he knows how to cry. My sister's Yorkie, Jazzy, is my friend again so I am relieved. She likes very few people and will not hesitate to bite!

The scenery here is beautiful and I just love it. The only negative thing I can say is that I have been eating way too much! My poor son misses me to death and is sending me text messages every five minutes.

I will be heading home early Saturday morning so I am going to get back to my visit since I don't have much time left!

Have you ever experienced an earthquake? How hot is the weather where you live?

  1. The jet lag going west-to-east is just awful, especially with that big of a time difference. But, at least if you're not really adjusted to Eastern time it should make going back a little easier.

I've only experienced a few earthquakes: one and its aftershock when I was in Panama and the one about a year ago that everyone (it seems) on the East coast felt.

    1. As soon as I was starting to get used to the Eastern time zone it was time to come back to California. I keep thinking that is later than what it is and my appetite is all messed up too. I keep thinking that it is time to eat and tricking myself into being hungry! Earthquakes are scary and they keep saying the "big one" is coming so it kind of freaks me out!

  2. You just have dogs everywhere these days!! Lucky girl!! I have never experienced an earthquake. I don't know what I would do if I did! I can't even imagine what it would feel like. It has been stinking hot here lately (over 30C) but the next few days are supposed to be cooler with rain. I'm not complaining - we need it!! You and your son are so cute :)

    1. Thank you Christina. I have been visiting my sister in South Carolina and she has the cutest Yorkie, Jazzy. The weather in South Carolina was much better than the hot weather here in California. It was 95 degrees in California when I got back. Way too hot!

    1. I hate earthquakes too. They scare me because I never know when they are going to end or how hard they are going to be! The humidity was not half as bad in South Carolina as the heat here in California. I really liked it in South Carolina but I am a California girl :)

  4. Enjoy your visit. I have not been to California ever, but perhaps I will visit someday. It definitely sounds toastier in California than here in the south. North Carolina hits the 100 temps a lot, but we are on a little cool down right now so in the mid to high 80's with rain. Hope your visit is fun.

    1. You would California! Everyone needs to visit California at least once. I had a great visit with my sister in South Carolina and am a little sad that I had to leave them. South Carolina was beautiful!

  5. Despite my East Coast location, I'm a California native, so I'm all too familiar with earthquakes (the biggest being the Northridge quake of January 17, 1994), but having lived here now for the past 18 years, I still struggle with the humidity. Glad to hear you're having a great vacation!

    1. I remember that Northridge earthquake. It was pretty bad!! Believe it or not, the humidity in South Carolina was much better than the heat here in California. My vacation was great and now that I am back home I kind of miss it there. Everything seems to be at a much slower pace than California and I kind of enjoyed that.
