What a weekend! I am so glad that it is over so that I can get over DNS#4 and focus on getting myself back to running! So many PR's and great things happened for so many people this weekend and even though I had to sit my race out, I am so happy for everyone who has worked so hard to achieve big things!
Sunday morning was a little tough for me since my race clock still went off at 4:00 a.m. even though I was not heading to a race. I sure thought about it though but I know that being dumb is never the right choice. I have a full race calendar for the beginning of 2013 and I am not about to throw it all away for a crappy race that would not be my best anyway. I want to be able to give 100%! Running through pain and worrying about whether or not you are really doing yourself more damage is no fun anyway so I am glad I made the right decision! Enough said about that and on to some really exciting stuff like my son's fun mile run!
Here are some other highlights from his race!
He looks so proud of his medal....and he SHOULD be! Maybe even as proud as his mom!
ReplyDeleteHe is very proud Bill! He isn't really a runner but enjoys the short distance and thinks he is really fast!
DeleteLove it!! He has great form too.:)
ReplyDeleteI never paid attention to his form but thanks for pointing that out. He would love to hear that!
Deletegreat pictures!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou know it was not a good racing weather day yesterday...so so hot....
Thank You Caroline. Your little ones are fast!! I thought the temps were in the 60's? That is what Run Racing was posting but I guess the weather can change at any moment.
DeleteGreat job to your son, I love that he carried his own water, what a smart kid!
ReplyDeleteThank You! I thought is was funny for him to carry the handheld but last year he had to stop for a water break and it slowed him down he said. He is a little competitive thing there!
DeleteAwesome job to your son! Just like his Mom!!
ReplyDeleteAs you know I ran Chicago yesterday...far from my goal, but a finish none the less! xo
It's not about the time Michelle, it's about the finish line! I know what an amazing accomplishment this was for you and how much it meant! I hope you are still on a runner's high for achieving your goal. You did a great job and I am so happy for you!
DeleteWow, how fun for your son! And so cool that you got all those pictures to capture the moment. I know my kids would LOVE to have a medal like that one.
ReplyDeleteAs for you, you'll be out there. You are being so SMART. It will pay big dividends.
Thank You Terzah! I am still bummed that you are trying to leave us :( My son is very proud of his medals! Caroline's sons ran the same race as my son did and her little ones are super speedy! You should definitely sign your kids up for one when they are little bit older. They would really enjoy it and it is a great confidence booster for the kids!
