Three Things Thursday

1. I am very happy to say that my loan is all approved!! My payment is actually going to be about $320.00 cheaper a month and that is great news for me. I love saving money! I don't make my first payment until December 1st which means no mortgage payment in November! Since I don't have a payment in November, I will use that money to cover some of my prepaid costs like taxes and insurance. A notary will be coming to my house tomorrow so I can sign my life away!
2.  I can't believe that it is almost Thanksgiving and then Christmas is right around the corner.  Christmas is 60 days away to be exact! Several of my co-workers have mentioned that they have already started Christmas shopping! I have had some people tell me that they shop year round so that they don't have to beat the crowds during the holiday season. The shopping bug doesn't officially hit me until the day after Thanksgiving AKA BLACK FRIDAY! I am a big Black Friday shopper! The crowds are crazy and the lines are ridiculously long but I love it for some reason. I think it is a sign for me that Christmas is almost here.
3. My sister and her family will be flying in from South Carolina to stay with us for Christmas so we are going to have a full house! This is probably the only time of the year where we actually occupy every single square foot of the house! We have two empty bedrooms in our house that we don't use so when my sister visits the space is filled. It's going to be a busy week!
So are you a Black Friday shopper?

Have you already started your Christmas shopping? If not, when do you officially start?

  1. I love Black Friday too. The crazy atmosphere is fun.

Congrats on your loan. Interest rates are amazing. We are trying to take advantage as well!

    1. I am coupon person too and if I find a good deal I will buy it and put it away. Everyone laughs at me because I love to use coupons and if I forget my coupons I don't want to buy without them! I am so glad the loan went through. They ask so many questions!

  4. Funny, I was just thinking about potentially getting a jump on Christmas planning/shopping/etc. I used to go out on Black Friday, but no longer. We like to take a weekend and "get'er done" - but not on that day.

    Have fun!

    1. Getting it done in one weekend is pretty smart! I like to shop for the best deals and watch the sale ads until I think I can get the best deal! Most people think I am crazy to go shopping on Black Friday.

Congratulations on your refinance! That's an amazing savings! I hope that I get some good news like that when I decide to refinance!

    1. Thank you Missy! I am really excited about saving so much on my mortgage payment. To some people it may not be much but it's huge to me. You should refinance now while the rates are low.

  6. COngrats on being approved! Awesome!
I start Christmas shopping around 12/10. I'm so not a black Friday kind of girl. I wish I shopped earlier but we have a grab bag situation and the names are always drawn so darn late. Enjoy that full house!

    1. Thank you! I have always wanted to draw names but nobody wants to do it. Christmas is huge for my family since it is the one time that we all get together. Everyone is so spread out so I guess they enjoy buying gifts for each other. I always end up in a panic about spending so much money but I am going to take it easy this year.
