Three Things Thursday!

1. I love steel cut oats but since I have to wake up at 4:30am to get to work, there is no time to prepare them. On my weekend trip to Costco, I spotted cooked steel cut oats that are easy to prepare in the microwave.  All you have to do is heat them up in the microwave for 60 seconds and then mix with water, milk, fruit or whatever you like to add.  A box of 8 is $7.99. Works for me!
2.I found some good deals at the Nike outlet.  Pink is not my favorite color but all of the clearance items seemed to have some shade of pink.  I got the tempo shorts for $9.99 and the capris for $27.99.  The tank top was not on sale but it matched with the bottoms and it was $21.00 so I bought it. It actually looks really cute with the capris. I am a sucker for Lululemon however 3 Nike items =1 Lululemon item!
3. It's been a while since I ran a 5K and for some reason or another I have been itching to run one.  My friend Caroline told me about a local 5K that takes place on July 28th so I just might sign up for another race. I am trying to convince my husband to run his first 5K and I think he is almost ready. I normally stay away from summer races but since this is such a short distance I can probably pull it off without killing myself.
Do you run with your husband/significant other?
My husband is very supportive of my running, attends all of my races and is my photographer, however he thinks that anything more than a 5K is crazy and is self-torture!

  1. Great deal on the Nike gear. Montana has no cool outlets. I have only tried Lululemons skirts, afraid if I try anything else I will think I need to own lots of those too.

My significant other doesn't run and does not get my "obsession" He never goes to races :( so count yourself lucky!

    1. I love the Lululemon skirts too and I love them! It does get addicting so I try not to visit the website too often and thankfully the closest store is an hour away! That keeps me away!

  2. I've been trying to get my boyfriend to agree to run a Half with me for almost 6 months! He feels the same way as your husband! I'm still working on it though! You should definitely sign up for the 5k (with or without him)! I just signed up for one in Milwaukee next month!

    1. I think you are right, I will sign up anyway. Getting your boyfriend to run a half with you is tougher job than I have trying to convince my husband of the 5k!! Hope your Milwaukee run is a great one!

  3. My husband was a cross-country runner in high school and has always run a little bit since then, but he's not interested in competing or bettering times or doing anything but running to feel good. His attitude is actually really good! He does enter races, and he and I have done them together a couple of times, but he's not as into racing as I am. He's a good antidote to me.

I hope you get to do the 5K with your husband. It's fun!

    1. I think my husband feels the same. He used to do some kind of running in school but nothing like we enjoying doing. I think he will run the 5K since he has been working at it and has never entered a race before.

    1. I think our husbands are on the same page! I want to register for the 10K but think I will stick to the 5K since it might be hot. What is your experience with the weather?
